Split open a whole wheat pita so you have two rounds. Spread with tomato sauce. Sprinkle with fresh snipped basil, parsley and oregano, finely chopped spinach, and diced onions. Top with mozzarella cheese, diced ham and fresh diced tomatoes. Bake in a 350 degree oven until cheese is melty (is “melty” a word?) and bottom of pita is crisp. Baking the pitas on the tray of a broiling pan helps crisp the bottom.
